Can you Name that Chord?

Use the “How Chords are Built” chart to identify the shape

and the “Fingerboard Chart” to identify the Root

the first chord shape is m7

the root is on the 3rd fret on the E string G

the chord name must be Gm7

the next chord's root is the A string open

the shape is also a m7

the chord name is Am7

write your answers to the left of each chord shape

under the fret number




Can you Draw that Chord?

Use the “How Chords are Built”

and the “Fingerboard Chart” to identify the Root

choose a m7 shape for Ebm7

write the correct fret number, to the left, aligned with the lowest fretted note.

Choose a 7 shape for Ab7 that is close to your choice for Ebm7

Choose a maj7 shape for Dbmaj7 that is close to your choice for Ab7

the chords should be as close together as possible
